To Improve Mississippi Infrastructure

Driving on Mississippi roads in need of repair can costs each driver over $705 per year, and 12.3% of our bridges are rated structurally deficient. Mississippi’s deteriorating infrastructure impedes Mississippi’s ability to compete in an increasingly global marketplace. A successful 21st century economy requires serious, sustained leadership on infrastructure investment at all levels of government. Investments in Mississippi’s infrastructure and education systems will create jobs, improve our roads and bridges, support business, bridge the skills gap, and grow our economy statewide. As your governor Albert will:

· Advocate for raising the federal motor fuel tax to improve Mississippi roads and bridges
· Maximize funds from our state sponsored lottery to fix Mississippi roads and bridges
· Support research and development into innovative new materials, technologies, and processes to modernize and extend the life of infrastructure, expedite repairs or replacement, and promote cost effective savings.
